IL GIRASOLE HIGH QUALITY INN, Milan

Il Girasole High Quality Inn is set in a peaceful residential zone of Milan, well served by the red metro line M1 (Villa San Giovanni station), which provides direct, no-change access to the Duomo area and Milan Central Station. The Bicocca university district is 15-20 minutes on foot or 3 tram stops away. The immediate surroundings feel safe and relatively calm, with plenty of dining options within a 5-10 minute walk, including Italian trattorias, pizzerias and a large supermarket. The theatre Teatre degli Arcimboldi is within walking distance, making this a convenient base for event-goers. For those driving, free parking can sometimes be found on nearby streets, but no private parking exists on-site.

Rooms are larger than typical Milan standards, each featuring a comfortable bed, a work desk, a safe, and a private bathroom with shower and bidet. Some rooms include a balcony or open directly onto the courtyard garden. The decor offers a charming, laid-back style with parquet floors. Daily housekeeping ensures cleanliness throughout the stay. The private bathrooms are functional and include free toiletries. For longer stays, note that the property does not have a laundry room, but a self-service laundromat is a 10-15 minute walk away.

Breakfast is an Italian buffet, including freshly baked croissants, bread, ham, cheese, cereal, fruit juice, and good-quality coffee. The breakfast is prepared and served by the owners in a bar area that opens onto the garden courtyard, creating a relaxed morning atmosphere. There is no restaurant on site, so guests requiring a full evening meal will find a range of Italian restaurants, pizzerias, and a bar within a few hundred metres. A snack bar and coffee shop operate on the property for lighter bites and drinks throughout the day. Special diet menus can be requested in advance.

The property has no pool, spa, or gym, but it offers a few indoor entertainment options: a billiard table and darts are free to use. A shared lounge and TV area provide a relaxed spot to spend time. During warmer months, the charming courtyard garden with trees, plants, and outdoor furniture becomes a popular place to sit, have a drink, and socialise. Bicycle rental is available for an extra charge, allowing easy exploration of the residential area and local parks.

The property provides a comprehensive set of practical services. Express check-in/check-out and private check-in/check-out are possible. Luggage storage is free of charge, which is useful for those arriving early or departing late. A concierge service and invoice provision are available. Business facilities include fax/photocopying (free) and meeting/banquet rooms (paid). The building is non-smoking throughout, with a designated smoking area outside. Pets are not allowed, but pet bowls are available on request. Key access and CCTV ensure security.
