LA ROMANTICA AL COLOSSEO, Rome

The apartment sits in the Monti neighbourhood, a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum metro stop and a 5-minute walk from the Colosseum itself. Nearby attractions include Santa Maria Maggiore and the Roman Forum, all reachable on foot. The area is filled with cafés, restaurants, and a supermarket within a 2-minute walk. The tram and bus stops on the same street provide quick access across the city without a car. The Metro is about 10 minutes' walk and connects directly to Termini station and Vatican area.

The apartment sleeps up to 4 people in its two separate bedrooms plus a living room with a sofa bed. The kitchen includes a stovetop, refrigerator, oven, kettle, toaster, and all cookware and utensils. A washing machine and dryer are provided. The bathroom has a shower and free toiletries, and there is a separate dining area. The rooms are soundproofed and face an inner courtyard, so the apartment is very quiet despite the central city location. Air conditioning is free and works effectively. The beds are comfortable and the entire space is very clean. The apartment is on a floor with a lift.

The welcome basket provided by the host includes fruit, local snacks, coffee, milk, juice, pastries, and often a bottle of sparkling wine, making arrival easy without needing to shop immediately. The kitchen is stocked with oil, salt, and basic cooking essentials. Within a 2-minute walk (0.5 km) are Ristorante Isidoro, Rosso Ciliegia, my Angel paninoteca, and a pizza place. A few minutes further (0.5 km) there are Il Tempio di Iside, Ganesha India (Indian), and Cottura Zero Gradi. Many family-run trattorias and gelaterie are also just steps away. The host provides a printed list of recommended restaurants tailored to the neighbourhood.

Because the property is an apartment rather than a hotel, there are no on-site spa, pool, or fitness facilities. The neighbourhood of Monti is itself a leisure destination: full of wine bars, artisan shops, and historic streets for evening strolls. The Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill are within a 5-15 minute walk. The metro at Colosseum provides direct access to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain area in 10 minutes.

Wi-Fi is free and fast throughout the apartment. A lift accesses all floors. The host (Antonio) meets guests in person at check-in with keys, and he keeps the building secure (key access and fire extinguishers). The host speaks English and French. Luggage storage is available if guests arrive early or depart late: they can drop off bags, explore the Colosseum and surroundings, then return to pick them up before heading to the airport. Housekeeping is not daily; the apartment is cleaned thoroughly before each stay. The host is responsive on messaging apps and can order an airport taxi to the door.
