LOCANDA DE' PAZZI, Florence

The hotel is on a side street in the historic centre, within a 5-minute walk of the Duomo, the Accademia Gallery, and Piazza della Signoria. Santa Maria Novella station is about 15 minutes on foot via small alleyways, offering direct airport bus connections (€6). The area is pedestrian-friendly, and numerous restaurants, bars, and bakeries are within a 2-minute walk. Street-front parking is not possible; paid garages within 80-100 metres cost EUR 20-30 per night. The street can be difficult to locate by GPS, and the building entrance is not clearly marked. Evening and weekend noise from nearby bars and restaurants is common, while rooms facing an inner courtyard are noticeably quieter.

Rooms are basic and some have dated decor, but they are generally clean and well-maintained. Bed sizes vary, and some rooms feature a double bed made from two single mattresses. Comfort levels vary: many find the beds comfortable, though a few rooms have very soft or creaky mattresses. Air conditioning is present, but in some rooms it operates only in cooling mode (not heating) or can be noisy. Window frames are thin, so a room facing the street may let in noise, while courtyard-facing rooms are significantly quieter. Showers in private bathrooms can be very small (some are floor-drain style). Shared bathrooms are described as large, clean, and well-maintained. Daily housekeeping is standard, and some rooms have a small balcony.

Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the property, although signal strength can be weak in some rooms-guests sometimes use the corridor for a stronger connection. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after checkout, and some guests have been allowed to return to freshen up later. Daily housekeeping is included; towels and sheets are not changed every day unless requested. There is no lift, and no staff assistance with luggage. Check-in requires prior coordination, as after 20:00 no receptionist is present; the property relies on a phone contact and a digital code system. A city tax of EUR 3 per person per night is payable in cash at check-in. Pets are permitted at an extra charge.
