MATHESON OLYMPIA HOTEL, London

The hotel sits in a peaceful, leafy residential neighbourhood of Victorian terraced houses, offering a calm base after a day in the city. West Kensington Tube Station is a short walk, providing direct access to central London, Paddington (20 minutes), and Heathrow Airport via the Piccadilly Line. Kensington Palace, The Science Museum, The Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum, and the V&A are all within a 30-minute stroll. The 27 bus route from a nearby stop goes directly to central London. Gatwick Airport is reachable via an EasyBus service located nearby. The area is well served by restaurants, cafes, pubs, and a Sainsbury's supermarket, all within a few minutes' walk.

Each room has a private shower room, hairdryer, towels, soundproof walls, a wardrobe, parquet floors, and heating. All rooms have double beds; single rooms are also available. Standard Double Rooms include a microwave and fridge, suitable for self-catering; Budget and Compact Double rooms are considerably smaller and do not include these appliances. Some rooms have a private entrance, a patio, or garden access. Room sizes vary, with some being very compact - particularly the attic and garden rooms - so checking the specific room type is advisable. Some rooms have windows facing the street, which can be noisy at night; rear-facing rooms tend to be quieter. A fan is provided, but there is no air conditioning. The property is accessed by stairs only, with no lift.

The property does not serve breakfast and has no restaurant or bar. However, the location is convenient for finding food: several options like Domino's Pizza, Pizza Pronto, Cafe Continente, and Restaurant & Bistro Village Fayre are just a 3-5 minute walk away. The Hand and Flower pub and Wassouf Lounge are also nearby. A Sainsbury's supermarket is within walking distance for groceries. With a room that may include a microwave, kettle, and fridge, self-catering is practical for simple meals.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. Free luggage storage is provided in a ground-floor area, allowing guests to explore before check-in or after checkout. The property has a garden with outdoor furniture and a terrace. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and key card access. Reception staff are present from 9:30am until 8pm; outside these hours, the hotel operates with a self-check-in system for those who have arranged late arrival. There is no lift, so all rooms are accessed by stairs.
