OLTRARNO 1881 APARTMENTS, Florence

The apartments are situated in the Oltrarno district on the south side of the Arno River, a lively area known for its authentic restaurants, bars, and artisan workshops. Strozzi Palace is a 12-minute walk away, Santa Maria Novella is 1 km away, and the Uffizi Gallery is 1 km away. The property is just outside the ZTL (limited traffic zone), so you can drive directly to the entrance, which is a significant advantage for those arriving by car. Florence Airport is 6 km away, and the main train station is about a 10-minute walk from the tram stop. The area feels safer and less crowded than the centre while still being within easy walking distance of all major sights.

The apartments do not have a restaurant or bar, nor do they provide breakfast. However, the immediate area around Piazza Santo Spirito and Via San Frediano is filled with restaurants, pizzerias, and gelaterias. Within 0.5 km you will find Berbere Firenze San Frediano (Ethiopian), Il Trippaio di San Frediano (street food), Il borgo della pizza, Da Simone la buticche del lampredotto, Darsena Medicea, The Antico Ristoro di Cambi, Atelier de' Nerli, and Salerosa Bistro. A well-equipped kitchenette allows you to prepare meals in the apartment. Some guests have noted limited cooking basics (salt, oil, tea bags) beyond what is provided for the first few days.

The property does not have a pool, gym, spa, or communal leisure areas. A few superior apartments include a private steam bath, which is available only in that specific unit. The immediate neighbourhood offers plenty of bars, restaurants, and a vibrant street life, but there are no hotel-managed wellness or sports facilities.

WiFi is free and available in all areas. Each apartment has a washer-dryer, with a starter supply of detergent and laundry pods. A lift serves the first and second floors, though some apartments have internal stairs. Luggage storage is available free of charge at the Grand Hotel Baglioni, a sister hotel a few minutes away. Check-in is via a self-check-in code sent after completing pre-arrival forms and providing ID photos. Parking is available at a nearby garage costing €35 per day, but cannot be reserved in advance. A safety deposit box, CCTV in common areas, fire extinguishers, and non-smoking rooms are provided. Cots are available on request.
