OTHER SPACE ASAKUSA, Tokyo

The hotel is situated on a quiet residential street directly behind Senso-ji Temple, offering easy access to the temple, Nakamise shopping street, and Hoppy Street. Asakusa Station (Ginza, Toei Asakusa, Tsukuba Express, and Tobu lines) is about 10 minutes on foot, providing direct routes to Haneda Airport (Keikyu Line) and Narita Airport (Keisei Skyaccess without transfer). The neighbourhood is safe and filled with restaurants, convenience stores, and a 24-hour Don Quixote. For longer distances to other parts of Tokyo, metro or train travel is required. The walk to the station is pleasant but may feel longer with heavy luggage.

Room types include double rooms, family rooms with one bed and two futons, and quadruple rooms with four futons. All rooms are non-smoking and have windows (some face a close adjacent building, limiting natural light). Beds are notably firm, with some futon-style bedding described as very thin and hard. Room sizes are small by international standards - comfortable for one person but tight for two or more, particularly when storing luggage. Bathrooms are private but partitioned: a sink area next to the bed, a separate toilet cubicle, and a shower room. The air conditioning fan may not be turned off independently, and some rooms near external vents can be noisy. Daily housekeeping, bottled water, and loaner amenities (iron, adapter, hair curler) are provided. Baby cots can fit in superior family rooms depending on size.

Breakfast at the ground-floor cafe offers a varied menu (American and Asian options) with pancakes, fruit, and coffee. The cafe is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm and also serves lunch and dinner. A coffee shop and bar are also located within the hotel. A 24-hour convenience store is integrated into the ground floor, and a Family Mart is a 3-minute walk away. Numerous restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including Japanese, okonomiyaki, and sweet shops. Special diet menus are available on request. The breakfast selection is adequate but may feel limited for those seeking a full buffet.

The rooftop terrace offers panoramic city views and is a relaxed evening spot. The sun terrace and garden feature outdoor furniture and a picnic area. Bicycle rental is available for an additional charge, and cycling in the neighbourhood is a popular option. The hotel does not have a pool, spa, or gym. The shared lounge and TV area on the ground floor provides extra seating and a cosy atmosphere. The rooftop is well-used but not crowded, making it a quiet retreat after sightseeing.
