PORTNALL STUDIOS - MAIDA VALE!, London

The property is at Portnall Studios in West Kilburn, not Maida Vale as the name suggests. It offers good transport links: several tube stations are a 10-15 minute walk, giving access to central London in about 15 minutes by tube. Buses stop within a few minutes on foot. Nearby attractions include Lord's Cricket Ground (3 km), Madame Tussauds (4 km), and Notting Hill (15-minute walk). The immediate area has convenience shops, supermarkets, and restaurants within walking distance. The street itself is quiet, though some areas nearby may feel less safe at night.

Each studio features a fully equipped kitchenette with a stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, kitchenware, and electric kettle. The private bathroom includes a walk-in shower and hairdryer. Rooms are compact; the described 25 m2 may not match all units, with some feeling smaller. Beds vary in size and may feel narrow or short for taller guests. Pillows are described as flat. Curtains are thin, allowing early morning light. Soundproofing between rooms is minimal, and noise from neighbours or communal areas can be heard. Heating is available and generally effective. Ground-floor and basement rooms exist; basement units may have less natural light and a different feel.

Each studio has a well-equipped kitchenette with a stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, and kitchenware, enabling meal preparation. Basic cookware and utensils are provided, though items like tea towels or additional plates may not always be available. Toiletries such as shower gel or shampoo are not supplied. Several restaurants and cafes are within a few minutes' walk, including Alawia (0.5 km), Canal Deli, Dj's Caribbean Takeaway, Mosob Restaurant, and The Little Coffee Tree (all around 0.5 km). Supermarkets (Sainsbury's, Tesco) are within a 15-minute walk.

WiFi is free throughout and generally reliable, though occasional connectivity issues have been reported. The self-check-in process uses unique door codes sent 24 hours before arrival; no reception is on site. Luggage storage is available on the day of check-in from 12:00. The studios include a washing machine; however, machines may contain laundry from previous stays. No TV is provided. Heating is included. The host communicates via messaging and is generally responsive. No parking is available. Pets are allowed, but guests must take extra care with cleanliness; charges may apply.
