Hotel Details

Accommodation

Rooms are basic and functional - private rooms with shared or private bathrooms and shared dormitories - but serious maintenance and cleanliness issues are common.
The hostel offers a range of room types: private rooms (some with ensuite bathroom) and shared dorms with bunk beds. Many rooms are small but have shelving storage and a bed. However, recurring problems include mould on walls and ceilings, excessive dust, beds with broken frames (sunken mattresses that creak loudly), non-functional sinks, shower leaks, and windows that do not close properly, allowing noise and mosquitoes in. Some rooms lack windows altogether, and many are accessed via a steep, narrow spiral staircase with a broken railing. Dorm rooms have no lockers and no lockable door, so personal security depends on trust. Rooms on the ground-floor street side are noisy from traffic and early-morning street cleaning. Ventilation is poor; opening the door or window is necessary for airflow but brings in light and noise. The building feels old and poorly maintained; some fixtures and furniture are visibly worn.

Dining

No restaurant or breakfast is offered, but a shared kitchen and an exceptional selection of affordable nearby restaurants make self-catering easy.
The hostel provides a communal kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and basic cookware - guests can cook their own meals to reduce expenses. The surrounding Condesa neighbourhood is packed with dining options within a 2-minute walk, including taquerías (Tacos Don Juan, El Pescadito), cafés (Estacion Cereal, Lardo), and international restaurants. Many of these are open late and offer excellent value. No breakfast is available on-site, so plan to either use the kitchen or grab something from a nearby café.

Wellness and Leisure

A small gym, a rooftop terrace with views, a garden, and a communal lounge provide space to relax and socialise.
On-site leisure facilities include a compact gym (usable but basic), a rooftop terrace that offers a decent view of the neighbourhood, a garden area with seating, and a lounge with a TV. These are modest but functional for hanging out or meeting other travellers. The hostel also organises a free walking tour, which is a good way to orient yourself in the city. All facilities are shared and can get busy during peak times, but they add social value to a budget stay.

Facilities and Services

Free WiFi, a shared kitchen, and a 24-hour reception with English- and Spanish-speaking staff - but parking is absent and luggage storage costs extra.
WiFi is free across the property and generally reliable for browsing and remote work. Reception is staffed 24 hours, with personnel who speak both English and Spanish; some staff members are notably helpful while others have been described as rude. The property has an elevator, but not all rooms are accessible via it. No parking is available. Pets are not allowed. Luggage storage after checkout is available for a fee of 100 MXN per bag. The hostel is non-smoking throughout. Housekeeping is irregular - some guests reported clean rooms, while others found the room dirty upon arrival and saw no cleaning during their stay.

Top Strategic Tips

  • 01

Request a room not accessed via the external spiral staircase if you have heavy luggage or mobility concerns - that staircase has a broken railing and feels unsafe.

  • 02

Bring your own padlock for dorm lockers; no lockers are provided in dorm rooms, and dorm doors do not lock from the inside.

  • 03

Arrive during reception hours (check-in from 14:00) to inspect your room immediately; the staff can reassign you if the room shows clear mould, dirt, or broken fixtures.
