SIMPLE SLEEP, Hamburg

The hostel sits directly beside the Dehnhaide U-Bahn station on the U3 line, placing Hamburg Central Station 5 km away (about 10 minutes by train) and the city centre reachable within 10-15 minutes. Hamburg Airport is 8 km away. The immediate area has a bakery open from 6 am, a Sunday brunch spot, several restaurants (Dehnhaide Grill, Goldener Drache, Samui Thai Cuisine all within 0.5 km), a supermarket, a kiosk, and a laundromat all within a few minutes' walk. Despite being on a main road and above an underground station, soundproof windows and courtyard-facing rooms keep the interior quiet; road-facing rooms hear the intersection more. The location is ideal for solo travellers and city explorers who rely on public transport.

All rooms are private and have been recently refurbished. Double rooms have one large bed, single rooms have one single bed. Rooms are spacious, with ample storage (two wardrobes), comfortable mattresses, and pillows described as neck-supporting and comfortable. There is no TV or reading lamp. The shared bathrooms (toilet and shower) are lockable and kept very clean. Rooms facing the courtyard are quiet; those on the street side benefit from effective soundproof windows but are nearer to a busy intersection. The accommodation is on the third floor of a commercial building (no lift); the entire floor feels private and secure with a PIN-secured door. This is a functional, spartan-style hostel - no luxury, but everything needed for a good night's sleep.

There is no restaurant or bar on the property. A shared kitchen is available, equipped with a modern fridge, microwave, electric kettle, and washing machine - suitable for preparing simple meals and tea or coffee. The immediate surroundings offer a bakery open from 6 am (weekends from 7 am), a popular oriental brunch spot (Falafel Factory) right outside, and numerous restaurants within a 5-minute walk, including Dehnhaide Grill (0.5 km), Goldener Drache (0.5 km), Louiskitchenbar (0.5 km), Aqui Espana (0.5 km), Samui Thai Cuisine (0.5 km), Kathners 23 (0.5 km), and Pastaria (0.5 km). Guests preferring to eat out have varied and convenient choices.

The property does not offer a pool, spa, gym, or other wellness amenities. A hairdresser and beautician are located within the same commercial building, offering haircuts and shaving services. The nearby Inner Alster Lake (5 km) and Miniatur Wunderland (7 km) are accessible via the U3 line. For relaxation, the quiet courtyard-facing rooms provide a peaceful rest, and the surrounding Eilbek district has several parks and walking paths.

The shared kitchen includes a fridge, microwave, electric kettle, and a washing machine. The property is entirely non-smoking. The reception team speaks German, English, Polish, and Turkish. The host is reachable by phone and known for being exceptionally friendly and flexible with arrival and luggage storage. Check-in is from 00:00, check-out until 12:00; late check-out and luggage storage are available by arrangement. There is no parking and no Wi-Fi internet. A PIN-secured door provides building security. The hairdresser/beautician on the ground floor is a convenient extra. Services are minimal but well-executed.
