The immediate surroundings include a mix of shophouses and commercial buildings; some areas may feel less tourist-oriented. The location is practical for exploring Little India, Bugis, and the city center but less convenient for car users.

Room types include large mixed dorms sleeping 6 to 16 guests, female-only dorms, and private family rooms with 4-8 beds. Private rooms feature air conditioning, private bathroom with shower and bidet (in some), and amenities like a coffee machine, seating area, and outdoor dining area in select units. Dormitory rooms come with personal lockers (key fee applies), air conditioning, ceiling fans, and shared bathrooms-at least 2 per room. Some rooms have windows; others are windowless, leading to poor ventilation and musty odors. Noise from the street and internal corridors can be disruptive, especially in rooms facing the road.
