HOTEL TAMARIS, Paris

The hotel sits on a quiet street just off Place de la Porte de Vincennes, yet the metro entrance is about 100-200 metres away. Line 1 connects east-west across Paris, making most tourist sights reachable within 15-20 minutes. Nearby is the RER A station at Nation (10 minutes' walk), serving both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. Several bus lines stop at the square, and a Vélib' bike station is around the corner. Supermarkets, bakeries, and a weekend market are within a few blocks. The immediate street is residential and tends to be calm, though the square itself is busy.

The breakfast is the same each morning: one croissant and one small baguette per person, plus a limited selection of spreads and drinks. It is a French-style continental breakfast without hot dishes or fresh fruit. Some find it basic for the price, but it is convenient given the hotel's own restaurant and bar also open for other meals. The surrounding street has a range of casual restaurants and a supermarket for self-catering. Breakfast is served from approximately 7:00 to 10:30, giving late risers a chance to eat.

The hotel's leisure offering consists of a game room; there are no indoor or outdoor pools, spa areas, fitness equipment, or other dedicated wellness facilities. For leisure outings, the immediate area features a lively market on weekends, several parks (such as Bois de Vincennes, a short metro ride away), and the shops and cafés around the Porte de Vincennes square.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property but works best on the ground floor and lower floors; upper floors report weak or non-existent signals. The lift is very small-fits one person with one large bag, or two slim people without luggage. The 24-hour reception and security can assist with taxis, directions, and basic requests. Daily cleaning is reliable, though staff may occasionally forget to restock toilet paper or replace towels; checking at reception resolves this quickly. Luggage storage is available on check-out day without additional charge. The property also has a restaurant and bar on-site, plus a game room. Accessibility: the lift provides access to all floors, and wheelchair access is possible for the ground floor, but narrow corridors and small rooms limit full wheelchair mobility.
