VILLA BERLIOZ, Nice

The area is well served by public transport: metro line 2 from the airport to Alsace-Lorraine station is followed by a 9-minute walk. Tram stops are also close, making car-free exploration of Nice and day trips to Monaco, Cannes, and Antibes straightforward. The immediate neighbourhood is busy and urban with several restaurants, bakeries and shops within a couple of hundred metres. While the location is ideal for train travellers and provides easy access to the Promenade des Anglais and Old Town, the street can be noisy from traffic and waste collection at certain hours - lighter sleepers may prefer a room away from the road.

Rooms vary in size and floor level; some include a private balcony. Many rooms are compact, with some measuring around 14 m2, so the bedding is typically a king-size only and cannot be split into singles. All rooms have private bathrooms with a walk-in shower or tub, hairdryer, and toiletries. Soundproofing is effective in many rooms, but noise from neighbouring rooms and external street sounds has been noted, especially in lower-floor or road-facing units. A wardrobe and safety deposit box are provided, and several rooms have been recently renovated with modern fittings, including a lighted mirror in the bathroom. Room size can feel tight for two people with large suitcases, and the narrower staircases can be challenging with heavy bags.

Breakfast is simple: typically bread, pastries, hot drinks, and juice, and must be requested the day before. There is no on-site restaurant or bar, so other meals and evening dining rely on the surrounding area - options include African, Thai, pizzeria, and traditional Niçoise cuisine within 300-500 metres. Rooms have an electric kettle with tea and coffee bags, plus a small fridge that can be used for drinks or snacks. For those wanting a self-catering setup, a small shared fridge in the breakfast area is sometimes available.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Promenade des Anglais and the public beaches along the Baie des Anges. The Russian Orthodox Cathedral is also a 10-minute walk. For more structured leisure, the hotel can arrange a beach visit or suggest nearby walking routes. This is a functional city hotel with no dedicated wellness infrastructure, so leisure activities are city-based.

The reception is staffed from 15:00 to 23:00; outside these hours, self check-in works via codes sent before arrival. Luggage storage is free before check-in, but a €5 fee applies after checkout. Daily housekeeping is provided, and extras like express check-in/out and private check-in/out are available for an additional charge. Available services include a concierge and welcome assistance with luggage up the stairs (no elevator). Pets are allowed on request at no extra cost, and pet bowls are provided. The hotel does not have an airport shuttle. Security features include key-card access, 24-hour security, CCTV, safety deposit boxes, and fire extinguishers. Parking is available at a nearby public car park 30 metres away.
