THE GERMANTOWN INN, Nashville

The inn is a 30-minute walk or quick 10-minute Uber ride to Broadway and the Ryman Auditorium (2 km). The neighbourhood is quiet and safe, with many dining options on the same block (Germantown Cafe, Barista Parlor, Monell's across the street). Bicentennial Capital Mall State Park, the Farmers Market, and the state museum are within a few minutes' walk. Nashville International Airport is 11 km away. The area is also convenient for walking to First Tennessee Park for a Sounds baseball game. Note that crossing Jefferson Street requires using the controlled crosswalk at the next corner.

Each of the ten rooms is named after a historical figure and has unique features: The Jackson Room includes the original coal-burning fireplace; The Jefferson Room has a desk and angled bathroom with large window; The Madison Room (upstairs) has original floors; The Monroe Room (second floor) features an antique chandelier; The Polk Room has hardwood flooring and a lounge chair; The Buchannan Room (front of property) has large windows and a flat-screen TV. All rooms include a seating area, TV, free WiFi, ironing facilities, heating, a wardrobe, dressing room, and private bathroom with walk-in shower and hairdryer. Some rooms (e.g., The Jefferson) have a king-size bed. Bedding includes a duvet without a top sheet. Rooms are noted for being very quiet, with comfortable beds and good water pressure. A pet-friendly building is available for stays with dogs or cats.

Breakfast is served each morning in the sunroom and includes quiche, muffins, fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, coffee, and other beverages. The breakfast is well-regarded, with quiche and pastries often highlighted as standouts. No hot dishes are offered. In the afternoon, a daily happy hour from 5:00-6:00 PM provides two free drinks (wine or beer) and charcuterie/cheese board-a social opportunity that encourages relaxing on the patio. In addition, free fruit and wine/champagne are available. For lunch or dinner, the surrounding Germantown neighbourhood offers numerous restaurants (Red Bicycle Coffee & Crepes, Mother's Ruin, Germantown Cafe, etc.) within a few minutes' walk. Note that breakfast offerings have been simplified at times; the happy hour may not always be running, but is generally reinstated.

The outdoor spaces-sun terrace, garden with outdoor fireplace, picnic area, and ample outdoor furniture-are designed for relaxation and socialising. A shared lounge/TV area is also available indoors. For active leisure, bicycle rental, bike tours, walking tours, and pub crawls are offered for an additional fee. Live music, stand-up comedy, and temporary art galleries are available off-site. A personal trainer is available on request (chargeable). Happy hour (free snacks and drinks) is a daily social highlight, often held on the patio. The area is also ideal for walking to the nearby park, farmers market, and through the quiet streets.

Parking is free and private, with five on-site spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis; abundant free street parking is also available. The inn offers 24-hour front desk service, private check-in/check-out, concierge service, and luggage storage for early arrivals. Daily housekeeping is included. Business centre, fax/photocopying, and meeting/banquet facilities are available for free or at an additional cost. Safety features include fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and a safety deposit box. A designated smoking area and facilities for disabled guests are provided. Grocery deliveries (chargeable) and dry cleaning (chargeable) are available. The inn accepts American Express, Visa, Diners Club, Discover, and MasterCard. Note that the happy hour and breakfast service have occasionally been subject to change but are typically reinstated.
