The beach zone entrance is 6 km away, reachable by a 15-minute car or bus ride; a public bus stop is just 5 minutes on foot, providing cheap and easy access to the hotel zone and beaches. The ADO bus terminal is also walkable, useful for airport connections. A large supermarket (Soriana) is directly across the street, and many restaurants-Chinese, Italian, Argentine, and bars-are within 500 m. The ferry to Isla Mujeres leaves from Puerto Juarez, a 20-minute drive. Cancun International Airport is 17 km away; paid shuttle service is available. The location is convenient for budget travellers who don't mind using public transport.

All rooms are air-conditioned and include a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer, a refrigerator, flat-screen TV with streaming services, wardrobe, safe deposit box, and a private entrance. Some double rooms have a balcony or terrace, and certain rooms overlook the pool. Beds are typically comfortable and rooms can be spacious, though some are compact. Road-facing rooms may experience highway noise, and walls are thin, so corridor and neighbour sounds can be audible. Cleanliness has been inconsistent; some arrivals have found stained bedding, hairs, or dirt. Bathrooms are sometimes small with reduced shower pressure. Rooms are on the first and second floors with stairs only; ground-floor rooms (junior pool room and superior room) are available but there is no wheelchair ramp. The shared kitchen and common areas are accessible to all guests.

Villa Sofia does not have a restaurant or serve breakfast. However, the shared kitchen is well equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and all cookware and utensils. Complimentary coffee, tea, and drinking water are available. A large supermarket (Soriana) is located directly across the street, making grocery shopping very convenient. Many restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk, including Chinese, Italian, Argentine, and fast-food options. For a full meal, guests can easily prepare their own or dine out.

The outdoor swimming pool is open year-round from 08:00 to 22:00 and features a shallow end suitable for cooling off. The pool area is small but pleasant, surrounded by a garden with palm trees and outdoor furniture. There is also a sun terrace and a shaded garden with seating. The shared kitchen and patio provide additional space for relaxing. These facilities are best suited for short, casual use rather than extended leisure activities.

Check-in is from 15:00, check-out until 12:00. Reception is staffed from 10:00 to 19:00; after hours, automatic check-in is available using codes sent 48 hours before arrival. Luggage storage is provided from 10:00 on the check-in day but not between separate reservations. Parking is available at a nearby public location for US$5 per day; reservation is not possible.
