WEST WING HOTEL, ASCEND HOTEL COLLECTION, Tampa

The hotel is on a main road offering quick access to the highway and downtown Tampa. Multiple dining options including Jason's Deli, Five Guys, and East Japanese Kitchen Bar and Grill are within 0.5 km. Free on-site parking makes it easy to explore by car. The immediate area is convenient but can feel less polished; walking at night is not recommended. Busch Gardens is a 5-minute drive, and Tampa International Airport is about 20 minutes by car.

Each suite features a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, cookware, and utensils. The one-bedroom suites offer a separate living room, often as large as the bedroom. Rooms include a dining table, sitting area, in-room safe, flat-screen TV with cable/satellite, and carpeted floors. Some units also have a washer and dryer. While many rooms have been updated with modern décor, some may still show signs of previous use; requesting a newly renovated room is advisable. Upper-floor rooms tend to be quieter and have fewer reported concerns.

Guests have access to a complimentary fitness centre with basic equipment. There is no swimming pool or spa. For additional recreation, Busch Gardens is a 5-minute drive away, and downtown Tampa provides entertainment and cultural venues within a short trip.

The front desk operates 24 hours, though there have been times when it was temporarily unattended; calling ahead can help. Free Wi-Fi is available but its reliability varies, especially on weekends. Laundry facilities are on site. Shuttle service can be arranged upon request. The property is wheelchair accessible, and all rooms are non-smoking. New management is implementing improvements to address past service and maintenance issues.
