YOUYEN HOSTEL, Bangkok

Located 6 km from Don Mueang International Airport, the hostel is approximately 1 km from the airport terminal and the Don Mueang Skytrain station. For early or late flights, the walk is straightforward: use the overpass from international arrivals (Gate 6) through the Amari Hotel lobby to cut the journey to 5-10 minutes. Taxis from the airport cost around 100 THB. The surrounding area is well-served with 7-Eleven stores, local markets, and street food stalls within a few minutes' walk. IMPACT Muang Thong Thani is 10 km away and Chatuchak Weekend Market is 19 km away. The SRT Red Line and bus services are nearby for exploring Bangkok, though the location is most practical for transit stays. Public parking is free but requires advance reservation.

The private single room offers a single bed, work desk, seating area, city views, air conditioning, and a private entrance. The twin room provides two beds with similar amenities. Both share a bathroom equipped with a shower and hairdryer. Dormitory rooms are compact, housing up to four bunk beds with individual privacy curtains, multiple power sockets, USB ports, and reading lamps. Room doors are basic - sliding plywood panels with padlocks, and dormitories lack full doors, using only curtains for separation. Soundproofing is minimal; noise from other rooms, hallways, and outside carries easily. Air conditioning is effective but can be loud, and some rooms have windows that cannot be opened. Bed firmness varies, with some mattresses having plastic coverings. Overall, the accommodation is basic and practical for short stays, with a focus on affordability and airport proximity rather than comfort or luxury.

Leisure facilities include a shared lounge with TV, a garden, a terrace, and a picnic area for outdoor seating. A games room provides board games and puzzles, and the hostel hosts free movie nights, live sport broadcasts, temporary art galleries, and walking tours. Free cooking classes and tours about local culture are also available. The property is adults-only, ensuring a quieter atmosphere for relaxation.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the hostel and is strong in the lobby area, with a secondary spot on the third floor suitable for video calls. Free private on-site parking is available but must be reserved in advance. A paid shuttle service can be arranged. Reception is open 24 hours, with staff present from 6 AM to 3 AM; night arrivals after 3 AM should ring the bell or contact via Facebook. Express check-in/out is available for an additional charge. Luggage storage and lockers (30x40 cm) are provided free of charge. Daily housekeeping is included. The hostel has no lift, so stairs are required. CCTV covers common areas and the exterior for security. An ATM is on site, and invoice is provided. Pets are not allowed.
