ADMIRAL PLAZA HOTEL, Dubai

The hotel is situated in the heart of Bur Dubai, a historic district on the western side of Dubai Creek. The immediate area is dense with electronic shops and a predominantly South Asian community, giving it a lively, busy feel. Sharaf DG metro station (Green Line) is a 10-15 minute walk (about 800 metres), providing direct access to Deira, Burjuman, and connections to the Red Line for the Dubai Mall and other attractions. The Al Ghubaiba metro and bus station is slightly closer. Numerous bus stops are directly outside, making it easy to reach other parts of the city without a car. The hotel is within a 10-20 minute walk of Meena Bazaar, the Grand Mosque, the textile souq, Bastakiya, the Dubai Museum, and the Dubai Creek (abra water taxis). The Dubai World Trade Centre is about 5 km away, a short taxi ride. The neighbourhood is very crowded and noisy, with constant traffic and honking, and the area is not what many visitors expect of 'central' Dubai. The location is practical for budget-conscious travellers who prioritise metro access and proximity to old Dubai's attractions over a quiet, polished environment.

All rooms are air-conditioned and come with a flat-screen satellite TV, a private bathroom (with bath and shower), free toiletries, a tea and coffee maker, an electric kettle, a safe deposit box, and a wardrobe. Some rooms are quite compact, while others are spacious, especially the family and interconnecting rooms. The twin and triple rooms offer flexible bedding (e.g., three single beds). Family interconnecting rooms consist of a double room with a king-size bed and a twin room with two twin beds, and some have two full bathrooms. Rooms facing the main road or with windows overlooking interior lightwells have no view beyond brick walls or adjacent buildings. The building is older, and the condition of individual rooms varies significantly - some have dated furniture, stained carpets, noisy air conditioning (limited to 'freezing' or 'off'), and worn bathroom fittings. Housekeeping cleans daily and replenishes water. The hotel is an alcohol-free property. For lighter sleepers, requesting a room on a higher floor away from the street is strongly recommended to mitigate noise from traffic and the nearby rooftop bar.

The hotel's main dining outlet is Ocean Restaurant, open continuously from 07:00 to 23:00. It serves a buffet breakfast each morning and à la carte options for lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet is known for its wide variety, especially Indian dishes (idli, vada, poha, upma), plus eggs made to order, chicken sausages, baked beans, fresh fruit, salad, yogurt, bread, croissants, tea, coffee, and fresh orange juice. The breakfast is available for an additional charge (AED 35 per person). Dinner is served from 19:00 to 22:00. The menu features Chinese, Indian, Korean, and international cuisine, with halal and vegetarian options available. The restaurant also offers a children's menu. In-room dining is available 24 hours via room service. Several budget-friendly Indian and vegetarian restaurants are within a 1-2 minute walk, and Carrefour supermarket is a short bus or taxi ride away for self-catering supplies.

The hotel has an indoor swimming pool that is open year-round; pool towels are provided. On occasion when the pool is closed (e.g., for maintenance), guests are taken to an alternative pool at a nearby sister property across the street. The pool is on the smaller side and may not be open in the evenings. The fitness centre is free for guests and equipped with standard gym machinery. There is no spa or wellness centre on site.
