ROVE EXPO CITY, Dubai

The hotel is the only one actually inside Expo City Dubai, making it the obvious choice for attending events at the DEC or exploring the preserved pavilions (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, India, and others), the observation tower, and the Surreal water feature. The metro station is a 5-minute walk away (or a free buggy ride from the hotel), which allows you to reach Dubai Marina, JBR Beach, and The Dubai Mall without a car. For drivers, the hotel is near both Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), although local roads can be blocked without notice during large events, which makes navigating by car unpredictable. A paid shuttle bus runs to the beach. The immediate neighbourhood is uncrowded and designed for walking and cycling, with dedicated running and cycling paths.

The Cosy Rover Room is a compact but functional version of the standard room. The Rover Room offers more space and many have a balcony with operable windows-useful if you prefer natural ventilation over air conditioning. The Expo 2020 Suite provides a separate living room and bedroom, best for families or longer stays. Some standard rooms are smaller and sit adjacent to service areas, which can make the bathroom feel cramped and ironing-board storage awkward. Light sleepers should specifically request a room facing away from Al Wasl Dome because the outdoor music and event sound can be heard in many rooms until late at night. All rooms include 5G Wi-Fi, universal power sockets, USB outlets, a safe, and daily housekeeping. A limited number of connecting rooms are available on request.

Breakfast (79 AED) is a buffet with made-to-order hot dishes such as omelettes and eggs, plus continental options, fresh fruit, and halal selections. The evening meal offers a similarly broad range of cuisines, including pizza and seafood, in a family-friendly setting. The lobby also houses a coffee bar serving Rove's own full-bodied blend, a bar for evening drinks, and a pool bar for snacks and drinks during the day. The on-site co-working area includes refuelling options at budget-friendly prices. Kitchenettes and microwaves are not available in standard rooms. For longer stays, a 30% discount on food and beverage is available.

The rooftop pool is open all year, offers towels and sun loungers, and provides a direct view of the Al Wasl Dome. The shallow end and a separate kids' pool make it suitable for families. The pool sees morning sun until about 1 PM. The gym is open 24 hours and includes fitness/spa locker rooms and a public bath. Additional leisure options at the hotel include a games room with table tennis, a PlayStation 5, foosball, and Jenga, as well as a library of board games that can be borrowed from reception. A self-service laundromat is also available (one token 30 AED; 50% discount for monthly stays).

Wi-Fi is strong and free in all areas. The co-working area includes soundproof phone booths, Mac benches, and hireable offices. Meeting rooms come with AV equipment, LED screens, projectors, and built-in speakers. The outdoor terrace, with a view of the Al Wasl Dome, can host up to 70 people. Buggy transfers to the metro entrance are free.
