ARTEL HOTEL, New York

The hotel is located in the Bed-Stuy area of Brooklyn, a vibrant, artsy neighborhood with a mix of local eateries, including BK Bagels and Champs Bakery, all within a 0.5 km radius. The J Line subway is a short walk away, providing direct access to Manhattan and connecting to other parts of New York City. While the area offers a genuine Brooklyn experience, it is a more urban setting with some street noise, especially at night, and the neighborhood has a lively, sometimes gritty character. Parking is on the street and requires attention to street cleaning schedules.

Accommodation at the Artel is designed with a bold, industrial aesthetic, featuring graffiti art, blacklights, and bean bag chairs. Rooms come with a private bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, and flat-screen TV. However, the rooms are compact, and storage space is limited to a small bench. Bedding consists of sheets and pillows; blankets and towels are provided only upon request. Some rooms have bunk beds, which offer privacy curtains and are noted as comfortable. Noise from the street and hallway can be significant, and air conditioning may not cool below 22 °C. The hotel is best suited for travelers who prioritize budget and location over comfort and space.

The hotel has a bar and a vending machine offering snacks. There is no restaurant or breakfast service, but a free coffee and water station is provided in the lobby. The surrounding neighborhood offers a wide variety of affordable dining options within a short walk, including BK Bagels, Champs Bakery, and Santa Panza. Given the limited on-site dining, guests can easily find meals nearby or use the in-room microwave and fridge for self-catering.

The hotel provides 24-hour front desk service, free Wi-Fi in all areas, and complimentary luggage storage. A minimarket is on-site for basic necessities. Daily housekeeping is free but must be requested; otherwise, rooms are not serviced during your stay. Safety features include CCTV, key card access, and a safety deposit box (charge applies). The property is wheelchair accessible and has facilities for disabled guests. Pets are allowed with applicable charges. There is no parking on site; guests rely on street parking.
