GALAXY MOTEL, New York

All rooms have a private bathroom, air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, and an AM/FM alarm clock. The property is adults only. The actual condition reported across many stays is severe: mattresses and pillows are uncomfortable, walls are paper-thin, and noise from neighbors, traffic, and sirens is constant. Carpets are filthy and stick to shoes. Bedding has been found with blood and fecal stains. The bathroom door in some rooms cannot close. Towels require multiple requests. There is no mini-fridge, coffee maker, or closet space for hanging clothes. The photographs on booking sites do not match the reality of the room. The hallways and elevator carry a persistent smell of smoke and marijuana despite the building being designated non-smoking.

The property offers no food service, no restaurant, and no breakfast. The only available food on site is from a vending machine offering snacks and drinks. Several fast-food restaurants are located within a one-block walk for those who wish to purchase meals off-site.
