HOTEL & SPA CARRE SAINT-LOUIS, Montreal

The hotel is situated on lively St. Denis Street in the Plateau-Mont-Royal area, with Sherbrooke Metro station less than a five-minute walk away - providing direct access across the city. The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is 1 km away, and the Casino de Montreal is 8 km distant. The immediate neighbourhood is dense with dining options, including Indian, sushi, fusion, and bagel cafés all within a 0.5 km radius. Place des Arts and the Quartier des Spectacles are a short walk. For those driving, the on-site parking lot is cramped and requires exiting the hotel and walking around the block to access; the streets can be noisy into the early hours, especially on weekends. Public transit or rideshare is recommended for airport trips.

Breakfast is served in a dedicated dining room in the main building. The offering is a standard continental buffet with both sweet and savoury items such as croissants, bagels, eggs, ham, cheese, and fresh fruit. The same menu is served daily, which can feel repetitive during longer stays. Gluten-free bread is available on request. The hotel also houses an Indian restaurant, Bistro Guru, serving lunch and dinner (halal and vegetarian options), and several other cuisines - sushi, fusion, Indian - are within a three-minute walk. For self-catering, many rooms include kitchenettes with stovetops, microwaves, and refrigerators but may lack basic cooking utensils, so plan meals accordingly.

The spa and wellness centre is a dedicated facility within the hotel, offering a thermal circuit that includes a jacuzzi, sauna, and relaxation areas. Access costs CAD 50 per person for a three-hour block - this is not included in the room rate and must be booked separately. Massage treatments are also available at CAD 115 per hour. The spa has a quiet policy; children under 18 are not permitted. The rooftop terrace on the 4th floor provides outdoor seating and views over Place Saint-Louis, a pleasant spot for relaxation. The hotel does not have a swimming pool.

WiFi is free in all rooms and throughout the property. The 24-hour front desk can handle late check-ins and express check-in/out. Luggage storage is available free of charge - useful for early arrivals or late departures. Daily housekeeping is provided but is limited to changing towels and emptying bins; full cleaning may need to be requested separately. On-site private parking costs CAD 25 per night and requires advance reservation (spaces are limited and accessed from a separate lot). Accessible parking is available. The hotel has a lift, though some rooms in the secondary building are only reachable by stairs. Additional services include safety deposit boxes (free), key card entry, 24-hour security, CCTV, and smoke alarms. Fax/photocopying is available for a fee.
