HOTEL D'ESTE, Rome

The hotel sits in a lively area with many international restaurants, supermarkets, pubs, and theatres nearby. The metro station Piazza Vittorio (Line A) and Termini (Lines A and B) are both within a 5-minute walk. A bus stop is 50 metres away, and Termini's long-distance buses and airport shuttles are less than 1 km away. The Colosseum and Roman Forum are about 15 minutes on foot. For a wider range of international dining and shopping, Via Nazionale and the narrow streets of Rione Monti are a short walk away. A taxi from the hotel to either Ciampino (€30) or Fiumicino (€40) airport takes roughly 40 minutes.

Room décor is simple and modern, and all rooms come with a phone, strongbox, writing desk, and hairdryer. Triple rooms are arranged either with one queen and one single bed or three single beds. Quadruple rooms provide a queen bed plus two singles, or four single beds. Only rooms on the 4th floor include a small balcony with a direct view of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. For a quieter stay, rooms overlooking the inner courtyard are available upon request. Single rooms are small (12 m2) and may feel compact; larger triple and quadruple rooms are more spacious. Soundproofing between rooms is minimal, and street-facing rooms can be noisy. Daily housekeeping is provided.

The breakfast selection typically includes bread, ham, cheese, croissants, pastries, yogurt, cereals, fruit, coffee, and juice. The spread is simple and tends to remain the same each day, so those preferring a hot cooked breakfast should note that only continental options are offered. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but the surrounding area is dense with restaurants, pizzerias, and bars serving a wide variety of cuisines. A bar is available on-site for drinks. Fresh coffee and cappuccino are prepared on request.
