HOSTEL BEAUTIFUL, Rome

The hostel sits directly opposite Roma Termini, the city's main transport hub, making it exceptionally convenient for arriving by train or accessing the metro (lines A and B), buses, and airport shuttle buses to Fiumicino and Ciampino. Most major attractions - the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza della Repubblica - are within a 20-30-minute walk. The immediate area around the station is busy and has a reputation for being less polished, but offers plentiful restaurants, shops, and a large Conad supermarket (open until 23:30) within a few minutes' walk. For airport transfers, the cheapest option is a shuttle bus (€5-€7), while a direct train from Fiumicino costs around €14; taxis are also available. Street parking is extremely limited, and there is no private parking at the hostel.

Rooms are on the first, third, and fourth floors (lift access may not be reliable). Standard dormitory beds come in 4-bed or 8-bed configurations - all dorms are mixed gender and have no bed curtains, so privacy is minimal. Private rooms (single, double, or triple) offer more space and en-suite bathrooms with shower and bidet; family rooms include a wardrobe and heating. Air conditioning is available in some rooms for an additional charge, and the property reports soundproof rooms. The building is older: wooden furniture is standard, and some rooms may feel dated, with humidity or mould reported in a minority of cases. Windows open for ventilation, and there are lockers in each room (bring your own lock or buy one on site). The atmosphere is practical and budget-oriented; decoration is sparse.

The property does not operate its own restaurant or kitchen. Breakfast is offered at an external café a short walk from the hostel and is described as a simple, sweet Italian-style affair (coffee, pastries, bread). Several restaurants and takeaway options are concentrated within a 300-metre radius around Termini, including Roadhouse Grill, Antica Taverna Al.ba, and Mangrovia Restaurant. A common room with a microwave, kettle, and a few tables is available for preparing simple meals or reheating takeaway food.

The hostel does not have a swimming pool, spa, or gym. Available leisure is limited to a shared lounge/TV area and the broadcast of live sport events in the common space. There is no garden, terrace, or balcony access.

Wi-Fi is free of charge in rooms and public areas, though reception can be weak in some rooms. Daily housekeeping is provided free of charge and covers basic tidying and bin emptying. Luggage storage is available free of charge from 08:00 to 22:00 on check-in and check-out days. Express check-in/out is offered. There is no laundry facility or kitchen. A minimarket is located on site. The hostel has a 24-hour security system with CCTV in common areas, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and key-card access. Invoice can be provided. Reception is normally staffed during daytime hours, but the same team handles check-in and guest queries; response times can be variable at night.
