BEST WESTERN PLUS OTTAWA CITY CENTRE, Ottawa

Each room includes a flat-screen TV, refrigerator, coffee machine, and en suite bathroom with a bathtub and toiletries. Selected rooms add a microwave, Smart TV, and kitchenette with dishes and utensils. Beds are consistently described as comfortable, with a choice of firm and soft pillows. Some rooms have air conditioning and heating units that can be noisy; rooms on road-facing sides of the hotel may pick up traffic and siren noise from the nearby hospital. Single-pane windows are present in some rooms and offer limited sound insulation. For light sleepers, requesting a room on a higher floor or away from Carling Avenue is recommended. The decor is functional and clean rather than modern, and some rooms show signs of age (stained walls, cracked tiles). Kitchenette rooms are popular among families and those on longer medical stays.

The restaurant is located in the basement and offers a full menu including comfort food, vegetarian options, kids' meals, and alcohol service. Room service and takeout are available. Breakfast is available for 13 CAD per person and includes continental and American options as well as vegan and gluten-free choices. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and is well regarded for reasonable prices and friendly service. Those who prefer a lighter breakfast can also find a diner and a coffee shop directly across the street. The bar area features a billiard table, and a welcome drink is offered. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are available on site.

The outdoor swimming pool is heated and open daily from 09:00 to 21:00 during the warmer months - it closes fully in winter. Towels are provided at the front desk, and pool access requires a separate key. The surrounding garden and lawn with loungers create a relaxing space after sightseeing or work. The fitness centre has been updated with new equipment and is free to use. Billiards are available in the bar area.

Free wired and wireless internet is available throughout the hotel. Parking is free and does not require a reservation; accessible parking and one EV charging station are provided. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out, concierge service, and luggage storage. A guest laundry room with washers and dryers is on site. Business facilities include a free business centre, fax/photocopying, and meeting/banquet rooms for an additional fee. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, key card access, and in-room safes. The hotel is lift-accessible, though the elevator occasionally requires maintenance. Housekeeping can be scheduled at your preferred time. Credit cards (Amex, Visa, MasterCard, Diners, JCB) are accepted; debit is accepted for payment but a credit card is still needed for the $100 security deposit. Late checkout is $20 until 14:00.
