BEST WESTERN PLUS UPTOWN HOTEL, Vancouver

The hotel sits 1 km from Pacific Central Station and within easy reach of Vancouver General Hospital (a 5-minute drive) and other medical facilities. Bus routes 19, 99, and 9 stop directly outside, providing efficient transit to Gastown, Granville Island, Rogers Arena, and the City Hall SkyTrain station for airport connections (Canada Line). A large grocery store, pharmacy, and several microbreweries and cafés are all within a short walk. The area is safe for exploring on foot by day; Main Street is a 10-minute walk, while the uphill 30-minute walk to downtown core is manageable.

The Italian restaurant within the hotel building provides a full menu of authentic cuisine for lunch and dinner, available for room service. For breakfast, the restaurant serves a good variety including hot items for a reasonable price, and a 15% discount is offered to hotel guests-though service at peak times can be slow due to limited staffing. The main breakfast area in the hotel is small, using disposable plates and cutlery; a continental option is available but minimal. Several well-reviewed restaurants are located within a 5-minute walk on Main Street, including Sprezattura, The Cascade Room, and Sushiyama, offering alternatives without the need to drive.

Wi-Fi is free and reliable. The 24-hour reception assists with taxi bookings, wake-up calls, and tour arrangements. A business centre with guest computers is available, though occasional downtime may occur. Luggage storage is offered, helpful for late flights. Wheelchair access via a lift is provided; however, the lift is slow. Front-door security is tight-a key or buzzer is required for after-hours entry. An Italian restaurant, large grocery store, and pharmacy sit adjacent to the hotel, simplifying last-minute needs. Free parking is the most valued service, despite narrow spots and limited availability.
