The location places numerous restaurants, bars, and shops directly outside the door. The trade-off is exposure to city noise: a fire station is directly opposite, and the street can be lively late into the night. For those wanting proximity to attractions with a slight buffer from the loudest areas, the position offers a practical compromise.

Room types include king and double-queen configurations, some with private balconies overlooking the street or the interior courtyard with the pool. All bathrooms are marble and have been renovated, though several units have reported low water pressure and shower temperature control issues. The building's age means sound insulation is limited: thin walls and slamming doors can make hallway noise audible. The top (fourth) floor opens directly to the exterior and may be affected by an audible generator or elevator machinery. A few interior rooms lack windows entirely. Most rooms include a coffee maker, mini-fridge, in-room safe, and ironing facilities. Beds are frequently described as very high and comfortable, though some mattresses have been noted as worn.

Latitude 29 is a tiki-themed bar and restaurant located on the ground floor, with a menu of Polynesian-inspired appetizers, entrees, and a wide selection of rum and gin cocktails. It is open from afternoon until late evening, typically starting at 12:00 on weekends and 15:00 on weekdays, but is closed on Wednesdays. The venue does not permit guests under 21, including for dining, and may be reserved for private events. There is no breakfast service; the lobby offers free coffee and water in the mornings. Several dining options are within a three-block walk, including clubs, oyster bars, and Mexican and Cajun restaurants.

The outdoor swimming pool is saltwater, heated, and open year-round, set within a beautifully landscaped courtyard that also provides a tranquil seating area. The pool is a primary amenity, but has been closed for maintenance or private events on several occasions, and when open has sometimes been reported as dirty, with algae or debris. Towels may not always be available at the pool. The nearby sister hotel Monteleone offers an additional rooftop pool with free access for guests. No dedicated fitness centre or spa facilities are on site.
