BOARDINGHOUSE 23, Hamburg

The property is a 30-minute drive from Hamburg city centre, with an ice-skating rink nearby. The entrance is tucked away via a back alley and delivery access of a ground-floor restaurant, which can be difficult to locate. Street parking is available if the narrow on-site ramp is challenging. The surrounding area has a restaurant within 0.5 km and can feel run-down at street level, with possible night-time noise from the neighbourhood.

The apartments come with 1 or 2 beds and a sofa bed. Kitchens include a ceramic hob (2 rings), though cookware and a working kettle may not be present; power outlets in the kitchen area can be scarce. Bathroom doors are sliding or glass style, offering limited privacy. Some rooms have a surrounding balcony that is inaccessible and may contain debris. Heating is controlled centrally and cannot be individually adjusted. Furniture can show wear, with basic furnishings such as a camping-style table.

The hotel does not provide breakfast or an on-site restaurant. For meals, guests can walk to Ciao Bella or Conditorei Steidl, both 0.5 km away. There is a restaurant on the ground floor of the building, though its access is separate and does not serve as hotel dining.

The property does not have a pool, spa, sauna, or gym. The only recreational option noted in the area is an ice-skating rink within easy reach.

Parking is free and on site, but the ramp is narrow and the parking deck access requires navigating back streets, best confirmed by phone before arrival. The lift is dated and serves only up to the fourth floor; rooms above require stairs. Housekeeping and maintenance requests may not be promptly addressed, and luggage storage is not confirmed. Cots are available. The property is non-smoking throughout.
