Situated on Avenida Tulum, Caleta Hostel is directly opposite the ADO bus station, making airport and regional bus transfers effortless - the ADO bus from the airport costs around 120 MXN and stops across the street. A large Soriana supermarket is next door, and numerous restaurants (Los Bisquets de Obregon, Taqueria Coapenitos, Wake & Bake Coffee Shop) are within a 5-minute walk. The R1/R2 bus from the doorstep connects to the hotel zone and beach in about 20 minutes. Free public parking is available nearby without reservation. While the immediate area is busy and slightly gritty, it provides practical access to Cancún's centre and essential services.

Options include double rooms (1 or 2 beds), family rooms (3 beds), suites with separate living area (4 beds), and dorm beds in 4- to 8-bed rooms. All have air conditioning, though the temperature is centrally controlled and can be cold - bring layers if sensitive. Dorm beds feature privacy curtains and under-bed lockers. Rooms are minimalist: no TV, no hairdryer, no in-room fridge (communal fridge available). Some private rooms lack windows or have only small, high windows, which can cause stuffiness and a humid feel. Noise from the adjacent gym (loud music from early morning) and from other guests (occasional late-night activity) can be a factor; quieter rooms away from the gym are available on request. Bed quality varies - some mattresses are firm or plastic-covered, but many find them comfortable for the price.

On-site dining options are limited to a pool bar serving drinks and snacks, a coffee shop, and a snack bar. The rooftop kitchen provides basic appliances (stove, sink, filtered water) but is sparingly equipped and cleanliness can be inconsistent. Several restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including La Picosa, The Rooftop, Papa John's, and street food stalls. A large supermarket adjacent is ideal for buying groceries. Breakfast is not offered, but the coffee shop sells pastries and coffee.

The rooftop swimming pool is open daily 7:00 AM-10:00 PM all year and offers city views, sun loungers, umbrellas, and hammocks. The pool bar serves drinks. The fitness centre includes cardio and weight equipment, and free yoga and fitness classes are scheduled regularly. A public bath and solarium are also available. The rooftop is a popular social space; however, the pool has been known to occasionally close for maintenance. Access to the rooftop is included for all guests, and it remains open after checkout until 4:00 PM.

WiFi is free throughout but can be weak in rooms and on the rooftop - reliable in common areas. Daily housekeeping is included at no extra cost. Luggage storage is free after checkout until 3:00 PM; longer-term storage costs 385 MXN per week. A concierge and tour desk assist with bookings and local information.
