CAMPSIE HOTEL, Sydney

Located within a busy commercial centre, the hotel is surrounded by a Woolworths supermarket and a wide variety of Asian eateries, including Korean BBQ, noodle houses and Vietnamese restaurants - all within a five-minute walk. Campsie Train Station is around 500 metres away, providing direct access to Sydney city centre and connections to Kingsford Smith Airport (11 km). Bus stops right outside offer additional public transport options. The property is also 11 km from Accor Stadium, Bicentennial Park and Sydney Showground, making it a practical base for event visitors arriving by train. The location is excellent for budget-conscious travellers who rely on public transport, but car users should factor in the complete lack of on-site parking.

Rooms are compact and basic, featuring carpeted floors, a wardrobe, an electric kettle, a refrigerator and a work desk - functional for short stays without extras such as bedside lamps, tissues or extra cups. Some rooms have a balcony. The double rooms have one bed; triple rooms have two beds. All bathrooms are shared, with separate male and female facilities that are limited - typically only one or two toilets and a single shower per gender - which can lead to queues at busy times. Light sleepers should be aware that noise from the downstairs pub, neighbouring rooms and street can travel; rooms above the bar may also be affected by early-morning renovation work. The absence of a kitchen means no sink, cutlery or access to drinking water in the room, so picking up bottled water in advance is recommended. For those who prioritise location and price over modern finishes and private facilities, the rooms serve as a straightforward sleep-and-go option.

The hotel does not operate a swimming pool, spa, sauna or gym. Leisure options are limited to the pub's gaming room (poker machines, off-track betting) and a billiards table. There are no on-site wellness or fitness amenities, and no children's entertainment or organised activities are offered. Guests seeking swimming or exercise facilities should plan to use nearby public options, but none are within walking distance of the property.

Wi-Fi is free and available across all areas. Security features include CCTV, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers and key-card access. An ATM/cash machine is located on the premises. Safety measures are in place, but there is no lift and no 24-hour reception - check-in ends at 22:00. Luggage storage is not confirmed, so guests arriving early should plan accordingly. Airport shuttle service is not available; public transport via train from Campsie Station is the recommended option. The check-in desk is inside the pub and gaming area, which can be smoky and loud. Staff response times vary, but reports indicate that issues such as spills and bed-linen changes are handled promptly.
