CASA BARONTINI, Florence

The property sits on Piazza del Duomo, with the cathedral entrance just seconds away and the Baptistery immediately beside it. Palazzo Vecchio is a 9-minute walk, the Accademia Gallery is within 5 minutes, and both the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio are an easy 10-minute stroll. Santa Maria Novella train station is about 19 minutes on foot or a quick tram ride. Florence Airport is 9 km away. The circular layout means all key sights, restaurants, shops, and supermarkets are reachable without public transport, making the location ideal for a purely walkable stay.

Each unit has a private entrance, air conditioning, parquet flooring, a flat-screen TV, and a seating or dining area. Kitchens are fully equipped with stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, electric kettle, and cookware. Bedroom layouts vary: options include one-bedroom (double bed plus sofa bed), two-bedroom (accommodates up to 5 adults), and open-plan attic configurations - all with comfortable beds, crisp linen, and blackout curtains in bedrooms. Bathrooms feature a shower, bidet, and free toiletries. Consider that top-floor apartments may have loft-style ceilings; the lift and a short flight of stairs serve all levels. Noise from the piazza is audible when windows are open, but closing them and using air conditioning ensures a quiet interior. A dedicated drying rack is provided for laundry.

The kitchen includes a stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, and tea and coffee maker, so self-catering is straightforward. Within a two-minute walk you will find Il Nutino, Fiaschetteria Nuvoli, Giannino in San Lorenzo, La Cantinetta Osteria con Cucina, and Pizzeria A Taglio - offering everything from pizza to classic Florentine dishes. Trattoria Mario (0.5 km) and Le Scuderie (0.5 km) are also nearby. The host provides a curated digital list of recommended local spots for brunch, casual, and finer dining. Breakfast isn't a hotel service, but a café directly opposite serves coffee and pastries within seconds of leaving the door.
