RESIDENZA DELLA SIGNORIA, Florence

The location is between the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria, with the Orsanmichele church directly opposite. Palazzo Vecchio is a 13-minute walk, Santa Maria Novella 800 metres away, and Piazza del Duomo just 6 minutes on foot. Florence Airport is 9 km away. The surrounding streets are pedestrian-only, but taxis can drop guests at the door. Public transport access is straightforward, and plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants are right outside. The lift and close proximity to landmarks make it easy to return to the room for a break between sightseeing.

All rooms feature a private bathroom, air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, a tea and coffee maker, a safety deposit box and free fibre-optic Wi-Fi. Some rooms offer views of the Duomo, Orsanmichele church or the historic rooftops. The Superiors can accommodate up to three guests, and the Junior Suites sleep up to four. All bedrooms are in the same room; the property is a B&B with separate rooms, not an apartment. Windows can be opened, and thick shutters block out street noise effectively. Road-facing rooms may pick up some noise, but rear rooms are quieter. The renovated rooms are clean and spacious, and the beds are very comfortable. Towels are changed every three days. No balcony is available.

Residenza Della Signoria does not serve breakfast or have a restaurant. A shared lobby features a Nespresso machine, a water cooler, and a kettle, available 24/7. Next door, Cantinate del Verrazone is a historic café and cake shop ideal for breakfast and light lunches, with early evening meals in summer. More than eight recommended eateries are within a 0.5 km walk, including Ristorante Paoli, Osteria Il Buongustai and Trattoria Dell'Oste. The host can provide specific dinner recommendations upon request.

Check-in and check-out are managed by a host; same-day luggage storage is available free of charge if arriving before official check-in. Express check-in/check-out, private check-in/check-out, and a safe deposit box are standard. Daily housekeeping is included, and towels are changed every three days. A fax/photocopying service is free. Parking must be pre-booked at a nearby garage (charges apply); the host will coordinate license plate registration to avoid ZTL fines. Airport shuttle service is not offered, but the host can arrange a taxi transfer from Pisa or elsewhere. Laundry services are available at nearby laundries.
