The hostel is well positioned for budget travelers wanting to explore the city on foot and by public transport. It is a short walk from Mustafa Centre, Bugis Street, Little India and Kampong Glam, all within 1-2 km. Raffles City and the Singapore Art Museum are 3 km away, reachable by a 5-minute metro ride. Seletar Airport is 13 km away. The immediate neighbourhood is residential but well served by two MRT stations (Lavender on the East-West line, and a Downtown line station), numerous bus stops, a 24-hour NTUC FairPrice supermarket, and many local food stalls and eateries including Soi 47 Thai Food, Antoinette and Koon Bak Kut Teh Cafe within 0.5 km. The area is generally safe and quiet at night, though some have noted that the entrance via a parking lot and plaza is not well lit after dark.

The accommodation consists of female-only dorms, mixed dorms and private rooms (quad, twin/double). Dorm beds are pod-style with privacy curtains, a reading light and a power outlet, and many have hard side walls that add a sense of privacy. Mattresses are firm, bedsheets are generally clean and the air conditioning is strong, which is essential in Singapore's heat. The private quadruple room is small (under 9 m2) and has no window; lockers inside the room are limited and some beds lack a safe. The shared bathrooms (2 showers, 2 toilets) are located within the common area with minimal physical separation from the kitchen and lounge, which reduces privacy. There is no dedicated changing space in the bathrooms. Water pump noise, bright exit signs and noise from other guests can affect sleep quality. For light sleepers, earplugs and an eye mask are strongly advised.

Breakfast is served from 7:00 and includes white bread for toasting, peanut butter, strawberry/orange jam, boiled eggs and instant coffee/tea. The selection is minimal - there is no fresh fruit, cereal or hot dishes. The kitchen is also the common area, so breakfast is eaten at the same tables where luggage is stored and where the bathroom sinks are visible. For those wanting a heartier meal, a large number of hawker centres, coffee shops and budget restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk. The hostel's snack bar offers basic packaged items. Unlimited black tea and instant coffee are available throughout the day.

The hostel does not have a pool, spa or gym. However, Kallang Riverside Park is within walking distance and provides a pleasant space for a run or stroll. A public swimming pool is also nearby, with entry costing only 1.30 SGD. Ice-skating and boating are available in the broader area. The shared lounge/TV area and small terrace offer limited space for relaxation; the lounge furniture can accommodate only a few people at once.
