CORTE GUELFA, Florence

The hotel is ideally positioned for exploring Florence on foot: the Accademia Gallery, Piazza del Duomo, and the Uffizi Gallery are all a short stroll away, and the Santa Maria Novella train station is less than 10 minutes away, making day trips to Pisa or Siena easy. San Marco Church is a 6-minute walk, and Palazzo Vecchio is 600 metres distant. The surrounding streets host numerous restaurants (Fuoco Matto, Il CoCo, La Divina Osteria, and others within 0.5 km) and the central market is only 5 minutes away. For airport transfers, a taxi is quicker, while the tram from the airport is a cheaper option; during the day either works well, but at night pre-booking a taxi is recommended. The area is walkable and well-served by buses, though some side streets near the hotel have roll-down metal shutters after hours, and the property itself is entered through a separate night entrance, so it feels secure once inside.

Breakfast is served from 08:00 to 10:00 in a bright dining area. The selection is extensive: guests can choose from sweet and savoury items, fresh fruit, juices, pastries, and made-to-order warm dishes. Special dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) are catered for on request, and the buffet includes options for all preferences. The breakfast can be added at a cost of €20 per day, with rates available both with and without breakfast included. Beyond breakfast, the property offers a bar, snack bar, room service, and a special diet menu available upon request. Wine and champagne are available for an additional charge. For evening meals, there are more than a dozen restaurants within a 5-minute walk, including Italian, Indian, and casual options, making it easy to explore local cuisine without needing to travel far.

The on-site garden is a green, quiet space where guests can unwind, and the inner courtyard enhances the sense of calm despite the central location. Free glasses of Prosecco are served each evening in the common areas, and complimentary welcome drinks are offered at check-in. The immediate neighbourhood provides access to an ice-skating rink nearby. For those wanting to explore further, the staff can arrange tickets or provide recommendations for local cultural activities.

The hotel provides a strong set of practical services: free Wi-Fi throughout, free luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures, and daily housekeeping that replenishes the mini-bar and toiletries. The concierge team can assist with restaurant reservations, taxi bookings, and local recommendations. A safety deposit box is free of charge, and security is handled through key card access, smoke alarms, and 24-hour surveillance. The property is fully non-smoking and offers allergy-free and soundproofed rooms. Pets are allowed with potential charges, and pet baskets and bowls are available. There is no on-site laundry machine, but automatic laundromats are nearby. All rooms are on the ground floor and accessible; bathrooms include emergency cords, lower sinks, raised toilets, and grab rails. The reception is staffed from 08:30 to 20:30, but guests arriving or departing outside these hours are given clear instructions (a door code and key-drop process). Fax/photocopying is available free of charge, and an iron and ironing board are provided in the room.
