COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT GALVESTON ISLAND, Galveston

The hotel's position offers direct access to the Gulf of Mexico and a less commercialised beach experience compared to the areas near Pleasure Pier. Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn are less than a 5-minute drive away, while the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier is 8 km east. The quieter location means there are very few restaurants or shops within walking distance, and the nearest public transport stop is a 4 km walk. Free private parking on site is a strong advantage for guests with a car. Rideshares are the most practical way to reach the cruise port (about 20 minutes) or other attractions.

The Bistro is open for breakfast from 06:30-09:30 on weekdays and 07:00-10:00 on weekends, and for dinner from 17:00-22:00 daily. Breakfast is a paid à la carte menu with a 15 USD food credit per person if purchased as a package; the menu includes items like scrambled eggs, French toast, and breakfast sandwiches, but is limited in choice. Dinner offerings include sandwiches, salads, and entrees. The poolside bar offers cocktails and a limited food menu. The lobby also has a coffee house on site, and a minimarket is available. Guests wanting a wider selection of dining options will need to drive or use rideshares, as few restaurants are within walking distance.

The outdoor swimming pool is open year-round and features a waterfall that lights up at night, a fire pit, and a bar serving cocktails and food. Sun loungers and beach towels are provided. The pool area is popular and can get busy, especially on weekends. There is no spa or hot tub. The fitness centre is free and open 24/7, but has limited equipment - two treadmills and two ellipticals, of which only one of each has been noted as functioning. A nearby golf course is within 3 km and available for an additional charge. For families, the pool and the close beach access provide easy leisure options.
