COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT NEWARK DOWNTOWN, Newark

The hotel sits adjacent to Prudential Center with a covered walkway through the parking garage - a significant advantage during events and inclement weather. Newark Penn Station is about 8-12 minutes on foot, offering NJ Transit and PATH service to New York City in roughly 20 minutes. The area around the hotel is industrial and can feel unsafe after dark; walking to Penn Station during the day is fine, but using the garage walkway for arena access is recommended at night. Multiple restaurants are within a short walk, including Hobby's Delicatessen, Skylab, and Dunkin'. Highways I-78 and I-95 are a few minutes' drive. MetLife Stadium is 16 km away (22 minutes by car without traffic).

All rooms offer air conditioning and heating, private bathrooms (bath or shower), and a desk. Bedding is consistently comfortable, with a choice of one king or two queen beds. Suites add a sofa bed and separate seating area. Some rooms show signs of wear - dated decor, minor maintenance issues - but overall cleanliness is adequate. Street-facing rooms can be noisy due to traffic and the on-site nightclub; interior rooms are quieter. There is no microwave in rooms; a shared microwave is available in the lobby 24/7. No USB ports in rooms. Elevator access requires a room key for security.

Breakfast is prepared to order from a limited menu - think Starbucks-style counter service - and can be included in some rates or purchased separately. The breakfast selection is basic (e.g., burritos, pastries) and may run out of items during busy periods. Service is often slow due to understaffing. For lunch and dinner, The Bistro offers a small menu; many guests prefer to eat at Prudential Center or at nearby restaurants such as Hobby's Delicatessen or Redd's Biergarten. The hotel does not have a full-service restaurant or room service.

The fitness centre is clean and equipped with cardio machines and free weights. It operates 24 hours with key-card access. No pool, hot tub, sauna, or wellness treatments are offered on site. For leisure beyond the arena, the hotel's location provides access to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (a short walk) and direct rail to Manhattan.

The hotel provides a business centre with computers and printing, plus meeting/banquet facilities. Dry cleaning and laundry services are available (may incur fees). A 24-hour front desk can assist with luggage storage - useful for early arrivals or late departures. The property has a lift and is fully non-smoking. Accessible rooms are offered but should be requested in advance. Housekeeping is daily, though some reports note inconsistency. The hotel does not provide cribs on request; check availability at booking. Accepted payment methods include American Express, Visa, Diners Club, Discover, and UnionPay. Parking is not on site but at nearby public lots (see Critical Operational Notes).
