DESTINATION IN ROME, Rome

Set in a residential building on a side street near Termini, the location is well-suited for travellers arriving by train or using public transport. The main attractions of the historic centre are within a 15-30 minute walk. The surrounding area has many restaurants and a supermarket within a few minutes, and the metro station is equally close. The entrance is unmarked and on a smaller side street, so plan ahead for your first arrival. The neighbourhood is safe, with frequent pedestrian traffic even in the evening.

Rooms are spacious compared to typical hostels, with some offering a full-length wardrobe and desk. The dormitories include large lockers, but some locks are unreliable and a padlock is recommended. Room 2 dormitories are more spacious and have lights by the beds, while others may lack a light or power socket on the top bunk. Air conditioning is available and effective. Windows in some rooms face an inner courtyard, which can feel small. The furniture is dated, and the facilities in some bathrooms show wear. Bedding and towels are provided.

The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and has a fridge where food can be labelled. Several restaurants, including Babbo's and Ristorante Pizzeria Sofia, are within a 5-minute walk. The hostel staff are available to recommend nearby dining options. For those who prefer self-catering, a supermarket is a short walk away.

The hostel is designed for a calm, restful stay rather than social events. The lounge area has a TV and is generally quiet. The location allows easy access to Rome's main outdoor sights, with Villa Borghese Park 1 km away and the central attractions within walking distance. For relaxation, the air-conditioned rooms provide a quiet retreat.

Wi-Fi works well in all areas. Luggage storage is offered both before check-in and after checkout at no extra charge, which is useful for late flights. Lockers are provided in the rooms, though some lack functional locks. Housekeeping varies; the property is generally clean but cleaning is not daily and can be inconsistent. The lift in the building helps with heavy luggage.
