The hotel sits in the modern El Perchel district, directly opposite the main train and bus stations, making it an excellent base for day trips to Marbella, Fuengirola, or Seville. The historic centre, with the Alcazaba, Roman Theatre, and Muelle Uno, is a 15-20 minute walk away. Malagueta Beach is about 10-15 minutes on foot. The airport train runs every 20 minutes from Maria Zambrano station, taking only 8 minutes; a taxi costs around €25. The area is well-lit and pleasant to walk, with a shopping centre, supermarkets, and numerous restaurants within a few minutes. While the immediate neighbourhood is modern and lacks the charm of the old town, the walk into the centre is safe and straightforward.

The recently renovated rooms are well-maintained, though sizes vary. Rooms with windows to the interior corridor have no natural light or fresh air, as the window looks onto a covered walkway - these can feel dark and stuffy, best suited for short stays. Street-facing rooms offer more light but may experience some traffic noise. Beds are generally comfortable, though some guests find mattresses firm and pillows thin. Each room includes a safe, hairdryer, and toiletries; there is no kettle or minibar, but a fridge at reception is available for guest use. Air conditioning is standard, but older units may be less effective. No rooms have balconies.

The breakfast spread includes bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, and hot options such as sausages and beans. Coffee and juice are from machines. The breakfast room can become crowded during peak hours, as it also serves guests from a neighbouring hotel. Those with early departures can request a picnic bag. For lunch and dinner, the surrounding area offers a variety of restaurants and tapas bars within a short walk, including Japanese, Italian, and Spanish options. The hotel bar provides drinks and a lounge area for evening relaxation.

The hotel provides round-the-clock reception with helpful staff who can arrange car hire, excursions, and transfers (not complimentary).
