DUO HOUSING (ADULTS ONLY), Washington

The property holds an excellent location score of 8.9. Key landmarks such as the Washington Monument (6-minute drive) and Lincoln Memorial (9-minute drive) are easily reachable. The Mt Vernon Sq metro station offers direct access to downtown and other neighborhoods. Numerous restaurants (Supra, Tiger Fork, El Rinconcito Cafe) are within 0.5 km, and a grocery store is located two doors away. The neighborhood is safe and walkable, making it ideal for sightseeing without a car.

Rooms are dormitory-style with bunk beds, each equipped with USB charging ports. Lockers are small (sized for personal items) and require your own padlock. Some rooms-especially in the basement-lack windows and may have poor ventilation, leading to stale air. Metal bed frames can be creaky, and noise transfer between floors is noticeable. Private bathrooms are available on a per-booking basis. Air conditioning is present in certain rooms; others rely on ceiling fans. There is no in-room safe, no balcony, and no TV. The property spans two buildings; some rooms are in a separate annex, requiring a short outdoor walk. Stairs are the only access to upper floors, which can be challenging with large luggage. Cleanliness varies: while many reports are positive, some have encountered stained linens or dusty carpets.

The property provides a range of free evening entertainment, such as karaoke, movie nights, and organised pub crawls. Table tennis and board games are available. Outdoor spaces include a rooftop sun terrace, BBQ facilities, and a picnic area, popular for socialising. There is no spa, gym, or swimming pool. The common areas - shared lounge, terrace, and fully equipped kitchen - encourage interaction among travellers, creating a lively hostel atmosphere.
