It feels safe but is not walkable for sightseeing - the free shuttle runs every 30 minutes from approximately 6:45 AM to 10:45 PM to the 33rd Street-Rawson Street subway station on the 7 line. From the station, Manhattan is 10 minutes (Grand Central) to 15 minutes (Times Square) by train. The 7 train local stops at this station; the express diamond 7 train bypasses it. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the subway for those who prefer not to wait for the shuttle. For airport trips, LaGuardia is a short drive; the hotel's shuttle does not serve airports but regular yellow cabs and ride-sharing are available.

Room sizes vary significantly by type and floor. Standard rooms are compact - described as small but sufficient for sleeping - while suites offer a separate living area and some include a jacuzzi tub and kitchenette. Rooms with two queen beds are available and tend to be larger than king-bedded rooms, which are the tightest. Many rooms on higher floors (9th floor and above) provide sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, including the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. All rooms include a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination, a dressing area, a sitting area, tea and coffee facilities, ironing facilities, and an AM/FM alarm clock.
