Hotel Details

Location

Situated in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal, Pensione Popolo places you within walking distance of Montreal's best dining, nightlife, and cultural spots.

The property is on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, one of the city's main arteries, and is just steps from numerous restaurants, bars, and independent shops. McGill University is 3 km away, and Percival Molson Memorial Stadium is 2 km. Place des Arts and Mount Royal Park are also nearby. Montreal-Trudeau International Airport is 14 km from the hotel. The surrounding neighbourhood offers excellent walkability and easy access to metro and bus lines, making a car unnecessary for most travellers. Street parking is limited and can be challenging - visitors arriving by car should plan ahead.

Accommodation

Rooms are clean, air-conditioned, and feature soundproofing, private or shared bathrooms, and views of the garden or city.

Pensione Popolo offers family rooms and standard doubles, each equipped with air conditioning, heating, a small coffee maker, tea-making facilities, and a sitting area. Some rooms have a private bathroom, while others access clean, well-maintained shared showers and toilets. Rooms with garden views overlook a green space at the back, and all are carpeted. The property's soundproofing keeps noise from the bar downstairs to a minimum. A communal lounge and kitchen area with a fridge, kettle, water boiler, and dining space is available for all guests. Note that rooms are basic - some lack a dedicated luggage rack or chair - and the building has several flights of stairs with no lift.

Leisure

Live music, a nightclub with an additional charge, and temporary art galleries are available on-site, with an ice-skating rink nearby.

The property hosts live music performances and has a nightclub/DJ (charges apply) as well as rotating temporary art exhibits. For outdoor leisure, a picnic area and terrace are available. An ice-skating rink is located in the surroundings, offering a seasonal activity. There is no spa, gym, or swimming pool on site.

Amenities

Free WiFi, an on-site bar and restaurant, a shared lounge, and terrace are complemented by practical services including an ATM and invoice provision.

Internet access is free throughout the property. The hotel provides a shared lounge and a common kitchen area for guest use. A bar, restaurant (Casa Del Popolo), and snack bar are on the premises. Additional services include an ATM/cash machine on site and invoice provision. Safety features include fire extinguishers and smoke alarms. Check-in is self-service via codes sent by email; the owner is reachable by text for issues. Parking is not available, and there is no lift - only stairs. Pets are not allowed.
