FRANCES ST HOUSE, London

The guest house sits in a residential area above a chip shop, with bus stops nearby and the DLR station a 6-minute ride from the airport. Woolwich Arsenal station is a 10-minute walk, offering train links across London. Local shops and cafes are on the doorstep, including Nando's, Viet Baguette, and The Friends Cafe within 1 km. The neighbourhood can be noisy, particularly during daytime, with some evenings affected by loud music from adjoining properties. The entrance number is easy to miss.

Each room includes a flat-screen TV with streaming services, free WiFi, a tea and coffee maker, and free toiletries. Double and single rooms are offered. Some rooms have a private entrance and are above a chip shop, so a fishy smell can be present in the hallway. While soundproof walls are advertised, noise from neighbouring rooms and the street is common. Curtains may not block light fully, and some windows face walls. Rooms feel basic and furniture can be worn. A few rooms are up four flights of stairs.
