The immediate block has a concentration of restaurants including Milan Pizza, KKOCHI Korean BBQ, and Fino Bar & Ristorante, all within 0.5 km. The area to the south is the Tenderloin district, which has a visible homeless presence and can feel less safe at night; sticking to the busier Geary Street or taking a taxi after dark is advised. Although the hotel is centrally located for sightseeing, street noise from emergency vehicles and weekend nightlife is a factor, especially in front-facing rooms.

Rooms are generally compact but functional, each featuring a double or queen bed, desk, TV, and a walk-in closet. The kitchenette includes a microwave, mini-fridge, toaster, coffee maker, and basic utensils. Bathrooms are very small but have a shower-over-tub and are kept clean; the claw-foot tub is a frequent feature. Room quality depends heavily on placement: front-facing rooms suffer the most street noise due to a nearby fire station and weekend revelry, while back-facing or top-floor rooms are significantly quieter. Some rooms have been renovated with modern touches, but the building has an older feel with signs of wear in hallways and bathrooms. The room size can be cramped for three people or those with heavy luggage. There is no air conditioning; windows open for ventilation. Stairs are the only access to all four floors.

The hotel does not provide breakfast, a restaurant, or a bar. Each room has a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, mini-fridge, and utensils, making it practical to self-cater.
