HAMMERBROOK HOSTEL, Hamburg

The hostel is located in a quiet residential and office area, with the S-Bahn station (Hammerbrook) directly across the street, providing quick rides to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and the city centre (15-30 minutes). Several restaurants, including a fusion Indian/Japanese/Pizza place, are within a 2-minute walk. A bakery around the corner offers breakfast options. The nearest airport, Hamburg Airport, is 9 km away. Off-site paid parking is available nearby, but free street parking is possible on weekends. Some guests noted the surrounding streets can feel dark and deserted at night.

The hostel offers single and double rooms. Double rooms are available with either a shared or private bathroom. All rooms include an electric kettle, tea and coffee, a hairdryer, and heating. Rooms are generally clean and spacious, with comfortable beds. Some rooms have a shared bathroom located on a raised platform (30-40 cm step). Soundproofing is limited - walls are thin, and noise from traffic, the S-Bahn, nearby clubs, and other guests can be an issue. Some rooms lack a TV, work desk, or closet/storage. The carpeted flooring may show stains. A fan is provided in summer, but may not be effective in very warm weather.

The hostel does not have a restaurant or bar. A coffee machine is available for use, and an electric kettle with tea and coffee supplies is in each room. There is a bakery around the corner and several restaurants within a 2-minute walk, including a fusion Indian/Japanese/Pizza restaurant directly below the building. Limited breakfast options are available in the immediate neighbourhood.
