HOTEL CITY MEETPOINT, Hamburg

The hotel is situated in a central but gritty area near the Steindamm district. The immediate surroundings feature a high concentration of homeless individuals and visible drug use, making it less suitable for families or solo travellers arriving at night. The main train station, supermarkets, Turkish restaurants, and Lidl are within a short walk, providing practical access to food and transport. Hamburg Airport is 9 km away. The location is very practical for budget-conscious travellers prioritising proximity to the station and city centre over a polished neighbourhood.

Accommodations range from single to quadruple rooms, all featuring a private bathroom (some with a full door, some separated by a partial wall only). Rooms are very small, often described as basic and sparse, with limited storage, no wardrobe, and minimal surface space. The twin/double rooms have two single beds pushed together, not one double mattress. Sound insulation is very poor, with noise from adjacent rooms and the corridor easily heard. Some rear-facing rooms are quieter. No fridge, kettle, or coffee/tea facilities are provided in rooms. Cleanliness is frequently highlighted as inconsistent, with reports of dusty carpets, stained bedding, and hair in bathrooms.
