HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS BROOKLYN BY IHG, New York

Sitting at the intersection of Park Slope and Gowanus, the location places the Union Street R train station a 2-minute walk from the hotel door. This line runs directly through Lower Manhattan to Times Square without a transfer, making it a practical base for exploring the city. The immediate area offers a Dinosaur BBQ restaurant directly opposite and several eateries, a grocery store, and a pharmacy within a few blocks. The Barclays Center is a 10-minute walk away, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Prospect Park, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden are all within a 15- to 20-minute walk. Coney Island is a 30-minute ride via the MTA. On-street parking is available but tight; on-site parking is limited and must be reserved. The neighbourhood has a mixed urban feel with car-body shops nearby, but the hotel's keycard access and 24-hour front desk maintain a secure environment.

Breakfast is included in the rate and includes a rotating set of hot and cold options such as eggs, omelettes, bacon, sausage, pancakes (from a pancake machine), toast, bagels, pastries, muffins, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereal, and a selection of juices, tea, and coffee. The breakfast area is small (seating around 45 people), so it can be busy between 8:00 and 9:30 AM. Hot breakfast is being phased in after some period of grab-and-go bags. The hotel does not have a full-service restaurant or a bar. However, a Dinosaur BBQ restaurant is directly across the street, and several other dining options-Runner & Stone, The PINES, Wangs, and Littleneck-are within a 5-minute walk. A shared microwave on the second floor dining room is available 24 hours a day. A vending machine in the breakfast area offers snacks and drinks.

Public parking is possible on site at US$40 per night plus tax; a reservation is needed in advance as spaces are limited. The property has 24-hour security with CCTV both inside and outside, and guests must use their key card to enter the building. The front desk operates around the clock and offers express check-in/check-out, luggage storage (free), and an ATM/cash machine on site. Business facilities include a business centre and free fax/photocopying. Cleaning services are available, including dry cleaning (additional charge). A shared lounge/TV area is available for guests. The single elevator has been reported as slow; it can get crowded during busy times. The hotel does not have a safe in the room. Accessibility features are limited to one queen-bed disability room on request.
