The hotel is situated on Galveston's west side at 8628 Seawall Blvd, directly facing the Gulf of Mexico. Beach access is across the street via a crosswalk. The location is convenient for those with a car, as most dining and entertainment venues are clustered around 15th Street, about a 10-minute drive east. Scholes International Airport is a 5-minute drive away, and the Carnival Cruise port is roughly 14 km east. Lone Star Flight Museum is a 5-minute drive from the hotel, and Moody Gardens Golf Course is 4 km away. The immediate area offers a quieter beach section with a few restaurants within walking distance, along with a Walmart and Kroger nearby. Free private parking is available on site.

All rooms are equipped with a flat-screen cable TV, free Wi-Fi, and ironing facilities. Each room has a private bathroom with toiletries. Rooms are carpeted and include a sitting area, with suites offering a sofa bed and a balcony with an ocean front view. Only suites provide a full ocean view; other rooms have limited or no view of the Gulf. Twin rooms feature two queen beds. King suites are available. Bed type preference cannot be guaranteed and is assigned upon arrival. While some rooms are spacious and have balconies, the property's age means that room condition varies significantly. Some units have been described as having maintenance issues such as musty smells, uneven floors, and balcony doors that are difficult to operate, so reviewing recent stays is advisable.

A complimentary American and buffet-style breakfast is provided each morning, including items such as bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, omelettes, biscuits, gravy, pancakes (via a machine that is occasionally out of service), pastries, and hot coffee. Breakfast is replenished until closing time. The hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner. Guests have access to 24-hour coffee in the lobby. For other meals, a number of dining options are available within walking distance or a short drive, with several restaurants along Seawall Boulevard.

The outdoor swimming pool and two hot tubs are open from 10:00 to 22:00 daily, weather permitting. The pool area includes water features and is a popular spot for families. Access to the fitness centre is included, though equipment availability can vary. An on-site convenience store is located in the lobby for basic sundries. The beach is directly across the street, providing easy access for swimming and walks along the seawall.

Free private parking is available on site without a reservation, including accessible spaces. The hotel has a 24-hour front desk with an ATM, a business centre, and meeting/banquet facilities. Laundry services are available for an additional charge. The property has a lift, though some guests have noted its condition. All rooms are non-smoking. The hotel is also equipped with smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. The reception staff have been noted for helpfulness, particularly those who can assist with specific requests.
