HOLLYWOOD HILLS HOTEL, Los Angeles

The property sits on a steep hill in the Hollywood Hills, a 10-minute walk from the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Dolby Theater. It is also a 6-minute drive (2 km) or a 21-minute walk from the Hollywood Bowl. Hollywood Burbank Airport is 11 km away. The immediate area has a narrow, winding road with fast traffic and no footpath, making walking uncomfortable and unsafe, particularly at night. The entrance is a small gate next to the Yamashiro restaurant valet parking, which can be difficult to find. For practical mobility to nearby attractions, restaurants, and for evening outings, a car or rideshare service is strongly recommended.

The property has four main room types: City View Studio (King, up to 2 guests), City View Suite (King + sofa, up to 3), View Family Suite (King + pull-out sofa, up to 5), and Hillside View Suite (King + sofa, quieter perspective). All rooms feature a private balcony, kitchenette (refrigerator, microwave, sink; some with a single-burner cooktop on request), independent air conditioning, Smart TV, and private bathroom. Condition and cleanliness vary widely by room and building. Some units have been recently renovated and are spacious and clean, while others are described as dated, with worn furniture, dirty floors, moisture issues, poor insulation, and malfunctioning fixtures such as HVAC, shower handles, and locks. For a consistent experience, contact the property before arrival to confirm the exact room and request a refurbished unit on higher floors.

The on-site restaurant, YAMASHIRO, is located on the same property but operates independently with its own staff and security. It serves Japanese and sushi cuisine, including vegetarian and vegan options, for brunch and dinner. The restaurant has a bar and a romantic ambiance. Note that this restaurant can be a source of late-night noise for rooms nearby. There is no breakfast service, but rooms have kitchenettes for preparing simple meals. The surrounding area offers additional dining options within 2 km, including Hard Rock Cafe, California Pizza Kitchen, and various Italian restaurants. For those relying on food delivery, guests can provide the gate code to the driver.

The main leisure facility is the outdoor pool, which is not operational until Summer 2025. When open, the pool has a view of the city and is available from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM with sun loungers. During closure, there are no on-site leisure activities. The property's hillside location and garden area are available for a quiet retreat, and the neighborhood is suitable for hiking, though the steeply inclined roads and lack of sidewalks make walking to nearby attractions unsafe. The garden features a historic Japanese pagoda and koi pond, which are unique decorative elements of the property.

The property is entirely self-service: guests receive a QR code for room entry via email. There is no front desk, reception, or on-site staff. Housekeeping is not automatic: daily refresh (towel replacement, trash removal) is available on request, and a full cleaning service (including bed linen change) is provided every third day upon request. Additional requests can be made by phone at (323) 963-6995. Luggage storage is not available. Pets are allowed ($20 per stay, up to 2 dogs under 23 kg; undeclared pets incur a $250 fee). Certified service animals are free. Smoking is permitted only on the balcony. Check-in is from 4:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM. A $150 security deposit per stay is required. Wi-Fi is free in public areas. Accessible parking is available, but there is no elevator and the property involves multiple staircases, making it unsuitable for guests with mobility impairments.
