The hotel is directly accessible from the highway, making it practical for road trips and business stops. Riverbanks Zoo & Garden is 14 km away, the South Carolina State Museum is 17 km away, and Lake Murray is about an 8-minute drive. The immediate area includes numerous chain and local restaurants such as Dunkin', Smashburger, and Groucho's Deli, all within 0.5 km. The location is generally quiet despite being near a main road, but the entrance/exit onto the busy street requires caution. Parking is free and ample, with accessible and electric-vehicle charging spots available.

Breakfast includes fresh pastries, cheese, fruits, and coffee. Hot options are limited (e.g., one waffle maker, no bacon or cheese on occasion), and the selection can run out during peak times. Room service is available. For additional dining, the snack bar sells frozen vegetarian meals, ice cream, and drinks. Many restaurants are within a short walk, including Smashburger, Zoes Kitchen, and Cracker Barrel (2 km). Coffee, tea, and water are complimentary in the lobby all day, and cookies are often provided at check-in.

The indoor pool is accessible year-round, though some find the water murky and the pool area cleanliness variable. The fitness centre features new equipment and is free to use. Additional leisure facilities include a game room with pool table, a media room with TV and board games, an outdoor fire pit, and gas grills for cooking. Children's activities are available, and the property has a large parking lot with plenty of space. The pool may require a key card that sometimes malfunctions; staff can assist.

The 24-hour front desk provides express check-in/out, luggage storage, and safety deposit boxes. Daily housekeeping is offered, but consistency varies; some rooms may require attention. Laundry facilities are free (bring detergent). A business centre with fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet rooms (additional charge) is available. The property is wheelchair accessible with accessible parking and a lift. Electric vehicle charging station on site. Pets allowed for a one-time fee. The staff is often noted as friendly and helpful, particularly the front desk and maintenance team.
