HOSTEL COMFORT, Prague

The hostel is located in the Karlin neighbourhood, a peaceful area about a 30-minute walk from the Old Town Square and Astronomical Clock. Public transport is excellent: the Florenc metro and bus station is an 8-minute walk, providing easy connections to Vaclav Havel Airport (14 km away) and Prague's main railway station (roughly 10 minutes on foot). Several cafés, bistros, and restaurants are within a 500-metre radius, such as Kavarna Kocici and Ngo restaurant. The location works well for transit travellers and those who prefer a less touristy base, though the street-level entrance can feel disorienting at night.

The hostel offers shared dormitories with 8 or 12 beds. Each bed comes with a locker and key; upper bunks have no safety rails, so the lower bunks are the safer choice. Bed frames may creak, and mattresses are thin. Privacy is limited: there are no curtains on the beds, and some rooms face the street, letting in noise from the road and nearby construction. Rooms are heated and soundproofed, though windows can let in cold draughts. Parquet floors and a sitting area add a practical feel, but the overall atmosphere is described as basic. If privacy or silence is essential, consider requesting a room away from the street or bring earplugs.

The shared kitchen is equipped with a microwave, electric kettle, sandwich maker, and refrigerator; there is no stove or cooker. The adjoining dining/sitting area has tables, chairs, and a sofa, along with a coffee machine that accepts coins (15 CZK per cup). This setup is adequate for simple meal preparation and storage. The neighbourhood provides several affordable cafés and restaurants (e.g., Kavarna Kocici, Ngo restaurant) within a 5-minute walk for those seeking a fuller meal or a wider range of hot drinks.

The hostel offers free high-speed WiFi throughout the building, which is useful for streaming or remote work. A shared lounge/TV area provides extra space to relax without staying in the dormitory. Linen is provided, beds are made, and towels are available. Luggage storage is allowed after check-out. The entrance is secured with key access, and CCTV is present in common areas. Parking is available on a nearby public street for €2 per hour; no reservation is needed. The shared bathrooms may require some waiting time, especially in the morning or evening. Reception staff speak Czech, English, Russian, Turkish, and Ukrainian, and are generally helpful and friendly.
