HOTEL ALCOVE NICE, Nice

The hotel is tucked away on a peaceful street just off the seafront, making it both tranquil and perfectly placed. The beach and Promenade des Anglais are a 3-minute walk, while Place Masséna and the old town are 15-20 minutes on foot. The Alsace-Lorraine tram stop (5 minutes away) connects directly to Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (10 minutes by car) and the train station. The surrounding area is safe and well-served, with multiple restaurants, bakeries, and a Carrefour supermarket all within a few minutes' walk. The location is especially suited to couples and solo travellers seeking a quiet retreat with immediate access to Nice's main attractions.

Rooms are fitted with air conditioning, soundproofed windows, and parquet floors. Each has a private bathroom with a shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries, plus a flat-screen TV with international channels, a coffee machine, kettle, safe, and wardrobe. Economy doubles are 12 m2, and many rooms are described as small, so travellers with large luggage should expect a compact space. Balconies are available on certain single and double rooms (e.g., rooms 106, 107, 300, 306, 307, 100, 103), but triple rooms and some others do not have them. Soundproofing between rooms is thin, so road-facing rooms or those near the hallway can be noisy; top-floor rooms tend to be quieter. Some rooms have a quiet street view. The property was refurbished in April, so interiors are fresh, though some bathrooms remain compact. Daily housekeeping is provided and includes towel changes.

The breakfast is a continental buffet with bread, pastries, jam, cheese, ham, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice. It is considered adequate but basic, and may not satisfy those expecting a hot or lavish spread. For lunch and dinner, the hotel does not operate a restaurant, but the immediate area is dense with dining options - from pizza places and Asian cuisine to vegetarian cafés, all within a 5-minute walk. A snack bar and coffee house are available on the premises for light bites and drinks throughout the day. The breakfast room itself is small, so during peak hours it can feel crowded.

The hotel does not have a swimming pool, spa, or gym. To enjoy the beach, the property rents sun umbrellas and towels for a fee, and walking tours are offered free of charge, allowing a guided exploration of Nice. The beach itself is a 3- to 5-minute walk, where the Promenade des Anglais provides a long coastal path for jogging, cycling, or strolling. For travellers wanting to keep active, the city's public transport (tram and bus) stops nearby, making it easy to reach the port or other coastal spots.
